I wouldn’t exactly call this a craft blog but it’s no secret that I love a good DIY. And that is why I decided to compile a list of 12 DIY kits to do at home. Bonus points, they are all from small businesses and under $30.
Most of us are spending a lot more time at home right now. And some of us are running out of things to entertain us. These fun DIY kits are a great activity for a lazy afternoon and you might pick up a new hobby!
Or if you are like me and always trying new crafts, these kits are good because they come with all the materials. That way you don’t have to buy large amounts of different materials. My husband is probably wishing I had bought a kit to try out several of the other hobbies I’ve acquired over the years.
12 DIY kits to do at home
Macrame Rainbow Kit – I have seen macrame rainbows popping up all over instagram and Pinterest. This macrame kit comes with everything you need, including your choices of yarn colors, to make a rainbow out of all this rain. Was that too cheesy? It might have been too cheesy.
DIY Bracelet Kit – What’s old is new again, including beaded bracelets. Choose your charm, what name or tagline you want, and a tassel color to make this bracelet personal to you.
Botanical Bath Bomb Kit DIY – This DIY comes with an added bonus. When you’re finished you have an excuse to relax in a bath as you try out your handy work.
DIY Baby Mobile – This DIY kit is marked as a baby mobile but I think it would be fun in a kid’s room or playroom as well. It comes with different sizes of felt balls in your choice of color, the base to attach them to, and the string to put them together.
Weaving Loom Kit – This weaving kit looks so fun and comes in a variety of colors. The kit comes with all the tools you will need including the loom. I had a lot of fun looking around this Etsy shop. There are tons of different fiber art kits.
DIY Candle Making Kit – Most of the DIY kits I’ve shared so far have been quick and easy. This candle making kit isn’t really difficult but it has a few more steps than the other kits. When you order your kit, you get to choose your favorite essential oil so you know you will like the smell.
Cider Donut Baking Kit – I have been indulging a lot lately and my sweatpants are feeling a little tight. Might as well bake these cider donuts for good measure. The kit even comes equipped with a specialty donut baking pan.
DIY Lip Balm Kit – This lip balm kit is a new one to me. I have never attempted to make lip balm before or any other beauty products really. Just for curiosity sake, I looked into how much it would be to purchase all the materials you would need to make DIY lip balm. Purchasing a kit is a lot cheaper and easier.
Cross Stitch Kit – This cross stitch kit speaks to my soul right now. When life gives you lemons throw them at someone. We have a lot of lemons right now. Might as well make use of it.
DIY Felt Garland – This felt woodland garland kit is so cute and would be perfect in a kid’s or baby’s room. The animals would also be cute as ornaments on a Christmas, don’t you think? This kit really is just adorable. It would also make for a fun distraction for a few days.
Hedgehog Embroidery Kit – Can you stand how cute this hedgehog kit is? I just love it! This DIY kit might be a little more complication than the other kits but I think it’s worth it. I need it, right?
Needle Felting DIY Kit – I have no clue how this kit works but I have to have it. Otters are my absolute favorite so I might have squealed when I found it. If otters aren’t your thing, there are a few other animals to choose from.
Which kit is your favorite? What are you doing to keep entertained during this time? You can check out my tutorials for some more activities to keep you busy.
